Tigar Footwear
Tigar was founded in 1935, at a time when Pirot was a town of around 20,000 inhabitants, largely shaped by agriculture and traditional crafts. Over more than 90 years of operation, a small workshop producing the popular traditional rubber footwear known as opanci grew into the largest rubber footwear factory in the Balkans. The production of opanci has been preserved to this day, serving as a symbol of Tigar’s origins and its decades-long tradition.
For many years, the history of the factory was written at Tigar’s production facility in the heart of Pirot through the dedicated work and experience of generations of rubber craftsmen, together with the knowledge, commitment, and creativity of technologists, product developers, and designers. By responding to market demands, conducting extensive research, and continuously introducing new materials into production, Tigar footwear has established a strong position in the segments of rubber footwear for professional use, hunting and fishing, as well as fashion and children’s footwear. Throughout all these decades, however, the common thread in the production of Tigar rubber footwear has remained unchanged: high-quality natural materials and highly skilled craftsmen who bring their knowledge, patience, and passion to every product they make.
Our Products
Rubber Work Footwear
High-cut and low-cut handcrafted rubber work footwear for general-purpose use, featuring molded or calendered soles, is made from materials that comply with environmental standards. The footwear is designed to protect the feet from moisture, rain, snow, and mud, while a selection of suitable linings makes it adaptable to different weather conditions.
The uppers and soles are made of rubber based on natural and synthetic rubber compounds. Natural and synthetic materials, including cotton and polyester, as well as neoprene, felt, and fur, are used for the lining.
White rubber boots for professional use are suitable for work in the food industry, including dairies, slaughterhouses, and bakeries.

The footwear is designed to provide protection against impact and compression, penetration, water and moisture, while slip-resistant soles ensure secure footing. All models comply with the required safety standards and certifications.
Depending on the model, the footwear may also provide additional protection against oils, fuels, chemicals, static electricity, and other specific hazards, including heat and flame, as well as resistance to chainsaw cutting.
